10-18-75 Dear sister:Today I received your letter with the cruel news that you have lost your foot, which gave me great sadness. But at least I heard from you, because I wrote a letter to you and another to Jesus about three years ago and received no reply, so I thought for sure that you had died. Because since you went to Mexico, you already said that you were ill. I think that 100 Dollars isn’t a lot of money between Jesus, Santos, Katy and the male nurse, I can’t remember his name, because everyone is in a better economic situation than I, but if it can’t be done, never mind.
I am old and have arthritis, as you will understand, and I live on my O.A.S, which is the state pension. Lately I made my quarters, which means that I – have a right to a federal pension, but I’ve yet to receive anything. Regarding Julia Flemate, forget about it, because she is very old and very ill, because she is older than us. Also, she would have to cross legally, and this costs a lot of money. I do not know what you all think about this, but in my case, when the time comes that I cannot even move, they will take me I plan for them to take me to the General Hospital, where it won’t cost me anything. If you can and wish to write to Patricia Medrano

she will gladly reply.
For now, even if it’s by begging on the streets, I ask God to help me to go to see you, because I know that it will be the last time that we shall see each other in this world. Thus, have faith in God, we will soon see each other.
Give warm regards to Max, and you, receive the most sicere regards D. Flemate
