Translation

  Ft. Lupton, Colorado Dear daughter,

this letter is to greet you, Bill and the kids. I got the mother’s day card that you sent me and the little package too. Thank you daughter, I truly appreciate it. And also, you guessed correctly: I needed nylons, because they are very expensive here in Ft. Lupton and I almost never go to Denver.

How is Nebraska? There’s so much rain here we can’t even use it, because it won’t let us work. They say the beets are ready for thinning,

but there’s been a lot of rain. How are the kids? I hope they are over their colds

Helen gave me some very nice pretty pots dishwareplates

We will use them for the first time when you come. Jerry is becoming very haughty, he almost never comes to the house.

Kathy does come, and is very chatty. Jess says that she’s like a parrot. Hey, did you end up writing to Demetrio, my brother? He hasn’t written to me again since that time. Tell me, when you write to me, if Demetrio wrote to you or not. Well, I think this will be all this time.

Give my regards to Bill and Billy boy, Robert and Linda, from Max and me. And for you, receive the finest regards remembrance from your mother who wishes you all much happiness, Jesusita Baros Torres
