Translation

  Ft. Lupton, Colorado Dear daughter,

the following is to greet you all, always hoping that you are well, as my wishes. I am well, thank God.

I am writing you these few words to tell you, first, that I hope that you and your family spend Christmas very happy, now that it is upon us.

Well, today I’m sending you this package with Christmas gifts for Pamela, Robert, and Elizabeth. Well, for Billy I’m sending you these $5 dollars with enough time so that you can buy him whatever he wants.

Well, you know that Helen is the one that always takes me   shopping for whatever, but now they say they don’t have money, and that they won’t be able to give gifts. So you know, that here in Lupton there isn’t anything, so I’m sending you these things well in advance.

Well, there aren’t any news here, except that Frances Nolasco is having another baby. Oh, and also that the older lady, the mother, is paralyzed. She can’t move foot or hand, and they have to feed her on the mouth.

Well, such is life. Regards love from Jesse and his family, and from us, regards love to all;

from Max and your mom J.B.T.
