Translation

Ft. Lupton, Colorado My dear daughters,

this letter is to greet you all – especially Pamela and you, Santos, and Jane, and wishing that you are all well.

I will tell you that we are all well,

thanks to my loving God, who is so good. I was very happy to see that you remembered me. I received the birthday card and the check for $5 as well. But you don’t tell me anything, and nothing about who you’ve fared with the weather. They say it has rained a lot in Nebraska. Here too. We had a strong hailstorm about the first two weeks in June. The harvests were lost around Longmont, and many houses lost their roof. You can see people replacing their roof everywhere around here

Well, I will tell you that Mrs. Hezol—   left after all. One of her sons came from Texas, bought her a house in Greeley and took her away, to Greeley. And well, the man was Mexican, and they say that Mrs. Hezol’s husband was Mexican and she had two blond children. And the Mexican man was called by the police because they wanted to send him her to the hospital.

Well, write to me every once in a while, don’t forget about us. Well, I will tell you that tomorrow is the 21st, and I have to go to the hospital for a cheap check up, as they say, for an examination. I go every six months.

Well, daughter, I think this will be all now, and many regards much love for all of you especially for Bill, and for you,

many thanks. May God bless you, that my greatest wish, from your mom, Jesusita Torres
