  Ft. Lupton, Colorado Dear daughter,

this letter helps me to greet you all, in general, and to tell you that we are all well, and for this I give thanks to God.

It looks like I am very well rested very relieved feeling much betterfeeling healthier, but I’m still going to the doctor. He gives me a shot every week and some pills that he gives me, and I can’t eat lard, or chile, no sugar, nothing that has starch, like tortillas, and other things that contain starch. Well, but I feel fine, entirely well. Give thanks to God. I’m starting to see a little better. I can see the small print, thanks to my sweet God.

I will also tell you that I was very happy to see that you wrote to me and that you remembered that   turned 59 years old, because I thought that you had forgotten. Thank you very much for sending me $4.00. Well, with those $4.00 I went to have my hair cut. They curled my hair a little. I do feel better.

How good that you are coming for a visit. We are eager to see all of you, but specially the baby. Also, Kachly Kathy seems to like babies a lot. She says that the baby must be about our color, and with coffee colored eyes. She is very eager to meet her, and Jerry is telling Helen ‘you should save a baby from the orphanage, and Helen says ‘mmm, I can’t handle I have enough with I have a handful with all of you, why would I want one more child. Because Jerry wants to buy a car already, and says he is saving money to buy a car.   He says that he already knows how to drive one.

Well daughter, truly, thank you. God will repay you for the money that you sent me. Well, I think that this will be all for now. Say hello to Bill from me, and regards love to all the kids from Jesse and family, and also from Max, and from your mom, with much love for all, and for you my finest regards. Your mom who truly appreciates you loves you and wishes you well in everything

Your mother Jesusita B. Torres
