Carta de William F. Schubert a Santos Baros Schubert, 10 de diciembre, 1947

Original

Havelock Nebr My Darling Wife&Baby –

How are my loved ones tonight; am sending a few lines to let you know that I love you both and miss you very much. Really get lonesome and blue; but look for the day soon, that we will be together. Didn’t receive any mail as I got two yesterday so look for a niu letter tomorrow –

I have banked my boiler fire so am ready to go to bed after I finish your letter. Am getting along fine except that some of the men cause a little trouble in the dining room so I gave a couple of them their board bills so they could leave as I’m not going to feed them; but the railroad wants them to work&eat here – The one man carried meat outdoors and threw it away and another poured coffee in the potatoes and things like that – I don’t worry about it by but the Head Railroad man in Havelock Shops might try to get me out of here; but   -2- don’t think that he will.

The camp inspector was here this afternoon and took a commissary inventory so I didn’t get to find out about a room – maybe I’ll get time tomorrow. My commissary checked ok – I got a good pair of rubber overshoes and had to buy some gloves so am taking good care of myself.

Got some hoarhound&honey mixed up for my cough. This should help-the cook has a bad cough too so got the stuff mixed-

Darling I wish I had you to warm my bed for me and keep me warm at night Honey. I really need you. Remember I love you very much –

It’s colder and clear tonight – Have snow about three inches on the ground.

Well, I hope and pray that you are both well – Take good care of yourself.

Your Husband
Always
Bill

-All my love&kisses-

Havelock Nebr Mi queridos esposa y bebé – –

Siempre
tu esposo
Bill

-Con todo mi amor y mis besos-
